DAY 1 ARRIVE PALERMO, ITALY
Arrive in Palermo, the vibrant capital of Sicily. Transfer to hotel and relax until dinner.
DAY 2 PALERMO
Depart hotel to discover the old part of the city strolling through its beautiful streets and alleys. Free time in the afternoon to enjoy mingling with locals, shopping or just enjoying italian icecream at one of many cafes in town...
DAY 3 AGRIGENTO
This morning we leave our hotel for Agrigento, on eof the most impressive cities in Sicily. En route, stop in the little village of Corleone, known for its Mafia bosses that have got the attention of many moviemakers producing films that amazed millions such as the Godfather.
DAY 4 TAORMINA
Today depart for Taormina. On the way, stop at the incomparable Roman Villa del Casale, the old italian Unesco site . Here, you see the jaw dropping 4th century mosaics. Next, see the Europe's most active 6.000 foot plus Volcano Etna that last erupted in 2017.
DAY 5 TAORMINA
This morning we tour the great town of Taormina located at the top of a hill overlooking the beautiful coast of Sicily.While walking through its charming streets and visiting the spectacular Greek amphitheater you'll know why the city is visited by millions every year. Enjoy free time to explore the town at leisure.
DAY 6 MATERA
Depart hotel in the morning to board a ferry to cross the strait and arrive at Messina located right at toe of the Italian mainland. Next, drive to Matera, truly unique in many ways and here see the underground city carved into the Appenine Mountains.
DAY 7 MATERA
This morning, take a walking tour of the beautiful town seeing the historic landmarks and taking in the breathtaking panoramas around. Once dubbed " the shame of Italy ", Matera remained abandoned for decades. Recently though, some entrepreneurs returned here building some elegant hotels and restaurants that offer great selections of food and the result is it has become such a popular place that it will be 2019's European Capital of Culture.
DAY 8 MATERA / ALBEROBELLO / MATERA
Today head to nearby Locorotondo, one of Italy's most impressive towns. Here, visit a cheese producer for a private tasting and have lunch enjoying the town's local products. Next, visit the Unesco city, Alberobello and see its fabulous trulli houses, the unique conical limestone dwellings resembling beehives.
DAY 9 NAPLES
Today depart for the amazing Amalfi coast region. En route stop at a mozzarela making farm and here enjoy tasting some great sandwiches. Next, arrive in Naples and try its original italian pizza.
DAY 1o NAPLES / CAPRI / NAPLES
This morning, hop on a boat to cruise across the bay of Naples to the charming town of Capri. Here, enjoy strolling through its streets lined with great mansions, cool cafes and designer boutiques.
DAY 11 DEPART NAPLES
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
